2009-11 Periodic Review and Technical Assistance

The Department of Land Conservation and Development offers grants to local and tribal governments to complete projects that update and modernize comprehensive plans, land use ordinances, development codes and other planning regulations. The grants are provided to jurisdictions completing a structured Periodic Review process and to jurisdictions with stand-alone planning projects.

Periodic Review grants are used for completing tasks on currently established work programs. Work program preparation is also an eligible use of Periodic Review grant funds, after existing work program work tasks are funded.

Technical Assistance awards are guided by a Grants Allocation Plan. The allocation plan lists priorities as economic development, streamlining planning processes, intergovernmental agreements, updates to coordinated county-wide population projections, and infrastructure finance planning. Compliance with federal mandates and coordination with other grant opportunities are also recognized in the allocation plan as an important use of funds.

The department is now accepting applications for the 2009-11 biennium. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications as early as possible. The deadline for all applications is November 1, 2009.

Application forms for Periodic Review and Technical Assistance grants for the biennium are available below. The grant application packet explains the funding priorities and gives instructions for completing an application. The application is available as a fill-in, downloadable Microsoft Word (.doc) format. The application may also be printed and filled-in by hand.

For assistance with applications, or for questions about eligible projects, please contact your DLCD regional representative: http://www.oregon.gov/LCD/repslist.shtml
